Nowadays, migration to other countries would become trend either for further study or for work. But many individuals are still staying in their own city or coutry where they were born. I will be discussed the reason behind this trend and its pros and cons in the upcoming paragraphs.
To begin with, The first and foremost reason for staying close to their birthplace is their feelings and conection with the place. Also, they have attached with many friends, relatives, etc. and they cannot leave this place emotionally. Moreover, they are used to with the technology, system or rules from their city. Their city is like their comfort zone. Coming out from their comfort zone is really difficult for them hence they always prefer to spend their life in the city where they were born.
On the positive side, living close to your birthplace has number of benefits in terms of getting help from friends and relatives in any crises or financial problems. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by identifying reasons why people stay close to their birthplace, alongside the associated advantages and disadvantages. The student presents a clear position and supports their arguments with relevant ideas, such as emotional attachment, social support networks, and limitations in employment and educational opportunities. While some ideas like the advantages and disadvantages could be extended further with deeper real-world examples, the response covers all prompt requirements adequately. This aligns well with the Band 6 descriptors, where all parts are addressed and relevant ideas are presented, though some parts are slightly under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introductory paragraph, body paragraphs addressing each prompt part, and a concluding summary. Cohesive devices are used to guide the reader, such as 'To begin with', 'On the positive side', and 'In conclusion'. However, paragraphing and referencing are sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, the second body paragraph relies heavily on repetitive structures and simple linking words. Additionally, some transitional sentences feel abrupt. Overall organization is clear, making the progression logical enough to satisfy the criteria for Band 6.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'comfort zone', 'financial problems', and 'manufacturing company'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice inaccuracies throughout the text, such as 'coutry' instead of country, 'conection' instead of connection, 'belons' instead of belongs, and 'benfical' instead of beneficial. Despite these errors, meaning is generally clear and communication is not impeded. This performance corresponds to Band 6 lexical resource descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating clauses with 'because', 'although', and relative pronouns. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses and prepositions, such as 'migration ... would become trend', 'people spend their most of their early time around first 20 years spend in the city', and 'student must need to move'. Punctuation errors are also present. These errors occasionally disrupt the flow of reading, but they rarely impede overall communication, placing the response firmly at Band 5.5 to 6.0. We award a Band 6.0 as simple sentences are handled adequately and complex structures are attempted.
