Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some group of individual like to spend their majority of life span with their native place. I would like to describe the reasons, pros and cons of this attitude in the insuing paragraphs.

To begin with, I think native place plays a vital role in everyones life. Therefore, the foremost reason for living at same place is that they are familiar with the surroundings and they adept that enviornment from their birth. They feel comfortable and convenient to live in same country or state. Moreover, people have attechments and emotions towards their own country, state or vilage. These kind of feeling bind them at same place.Apart from these, people achivements and sucess also lead to stick at one perticular place. For example, I seen 90% of people are doing the same work for the same employer more than 20 years of their life this suggets that they are getting what they need also they have good relation with everyone so they do not want to move somewhere else.

This approach has a lots of benefits such as people do not need to put extra efforts for the things they need. Their perception is limited they want be in a comfort zone. They are satisfied with their work, life and progress.

This approach has some draw back as well like people can not be able to see the bigger picture of them selves. They have a limited knowlege and skills. They can not be able to handle any risk involved activity.

To conclude, I think to be in a same is ok but when it need person should go beyound their limit and learn to try different things. It is good to be a not feel good sometimes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing reasons for living close to one's birthplace, as well as the associated advantages and disadvantages. A position is presented and maintained throughout the essay. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and lack deep extension or fully realized examples. For instance, the writer mentions that 90% of people work for the same employer for over 20 years, which is a broad generalization rather than a developed example. Nevertheless, all prompt requirements are covered, placing this performance securely within the Band 6 descriptor range where relevant ideas are presented, though some are under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to segment ideas into paragraphs corresponding to the introduction, reasons, advantages, disadvantages, and conclusion. However, cohesion is frequently mechanical and sometimes faulty. For example, transition phrases like 'To begin with,' 'Moreover,' and 'Apart from these' are used, but referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'These kind of feeling bind them at same place.' Paragraphing is used sufficiently to structure the text, but the logical progression between sentences feels slightly disjointed at times. This aligns well with the Band 6 descriptor where cohesion can be mechanical and referencing occasionally unclear.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'familiar,' 'surroundings,' 'comfort zone,' and 'draw back' (drawback). However, there are notable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'insuing' (ensuing), 'adept' (adapt), 'enviornment' (environment), 'attechments' (attachments), 'vilage' (village), 'achivements' (achievements), 'sucess' (success), 'perticular' (particular), 'knowlege' (knowledge), and 'beyound' (beyond). Although these errors are frequent, they do not impede communication since the reader can easily grasp the intended meaning. This fits the Band 5 to 6 threshold; given that the vocabulary is adequate and errors do not stop understanding, a Band 6 is appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'Some group of individual like to spend...' and 'This approach has a lots of benefits such as people do not need to put extra efforts...'. However, there are numerous grammatical errors involving subject-verb agreement, articles, and word forms (e.g., 'Some group of individual like', 'everyones life', 'people achivements and sucess also lead to stick', 'people can not be able to see', 'a not feel good'). These errors are frequent and occasionally cause some difficulty, although meaning can generally still be deciphered. This performance reflects the Band 5 descriptor, characterized by a limited range of structures and frequent grammatical errors.
