IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some people spend most of their lives living close to where they were born.
What might be the reasons for this?
What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, many people move to different countries or cities. However, Few individuals choose to live in the same place where they born for their whole lives. This essay will look at why people do this and the good and bad points of this choice.
To begin with, there are few main reasons why people stay in their hometown. The most crucial reason is family. Many people want to live near their parents, brother, sisters and grandparents. They want help each other and spend time together. Another reason is comfort. When you live in same place a long time you know everything. You know the best shops, doctors, and area knoweledge. Also, moving to a new place coasts a lot of money, so staying at home is often easier and cheaper.
Furthermore, the biggest advantages of staying home is a strong support system. If you have a problem, your family and old friends are help you right there. You never fells alone.You know neighbors and you feel safe in your community.
On the other hand, there are also disadvantages. The main problem is fewer job opportunities. Small towns not have many good jobs, si it can be hard to make a lot of money. Also, in a small town, everyone knows your job. Sometimes it is hard to have private life.
To sum up, people stay in their hometowns because of family, comfort and money. While, this gives them a strong support system and a safe feeling. Forr some, a life at home is perfect, while for others, moving away is better.
