Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many individuals prefer to reside nearby to the place where they born and bought up. The feeling of togetherness with the community and personal atttachment to that place could be reason behind this aspect. The following paragraphs shall discuss some positive and negative points about this idea.
The community where they had spent their most of the good and bad times could not be easily forgotten. Many people lives like a family in their residential area. They all have the emotions attached with each other. For example, a residential building has been celebrating a festival together and enjoys the festive vibes with great joy. The community they share is not just a place for them but it is an emotion.
The attachment with the surroundings and places has a great impact. people admits they buy a commercial things and household stuff from the same vendor who has been selling since they born.
To talk about advantages, people could live without any mental distress and they could share their feelings to people. They could get support from their group of known people. They could live their best life because they thinks they are in their comfort zone. On the other hand, if individuals would stay at the same location, they would not be able to grow in their personal life. Despite all this personal attachment, individual should focus on their own development. For instance, the student who moves abroad for better future opportunities could be more stable and independent in comparsion to a student who lives at the same place since born.
In conclusion, spending most of their lives where they born could have several advantages and disadvantages. The sense of community at the same location will able to provide the feeling of staying along with family but it will inhibit your own development and could stuck yourself at the same place and affct your overall growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt, including the reasons why people stay close to their birthplace, as well as the associated advantages and disadvantages. A clear position is maintained throughout the essay. The reasons provided, such as a strong sense of community, emotional attachment, and a comfort zone, are relevant and extended with examples, such as celebrating festivals together or students moving abroad. While some ideas could be developed with even greater depth to reach a higher band, the overall task requirements are fully met, earning a solid Band 6.5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is coherent overall with a clear logical arrangement, dividing the response into a proper introduction, body paragraphs addressing reasons, advantages, and disadvantages, and a concluding paragraph. Paragraphing is used sufficiently. However, cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'they' and transitional phrasing like 'To talk about advantages'. Referencing is not always entirely clear, particularly regarding pronoun antecedent clarity in sentences like 'the student who moves abroad for better future opportunities could be more stable and independent in comparsion to a student who lives at the same place since born.' These limitations place this criterion firmly at Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items and descriptive phrases such as 'festive vibes', 'mental distress', and 'comfort zone'. However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation errors throughout the text, including 'reside nearby to' instead of 'reside near', 'where they born and bought up' instead of 'where they were born and brought up', and 'commercial things' instead of 'commercial goods'. Spelling and lexical slips occasionally surface, such as 'atttachment' and 'comparsion', yet communication is never impeded. These features reflect the Band 6.0 descriptor.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over conditional structures ('if individuals would stay at the same location, they would not be able to grow'). Nevertheless, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly involving verb tenses, passive voice omissions, and modal usage, such as 'where they born', 'people admits', 'they thinks', and 'will able to provide'. Punctuation is generally acceptable, but grammatical inaccuracies are common enough that they prevent the essay from reaching Band 6.5. The errors rarely impede overall comprehension, securing a fair Band 5.5.
