Student answer (Band 5.0)
In todays world some prefers luxury whereas other prefers comfort. Instead of moving to new cities some people prefer to live close to where they were born.
First and foremost. As, they find their confort zone and wants to live near their kith and kin in order to maintain the healthy relation. The comfort zone provides them the security that now they do not want to make any changes. They love their monotonous life, rigid schedule.Moverover, some do not move due to their own personal reasons like job, property etcetra.Even I am living at the same city for almost 10 years. I completed my graduation and luckily I got the job in the same town. Moreover, I feel confident when I live close to my loved ones.

We became independent we do not need to wait for someone to come and provide directions. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing reasons for staying near one's birthplace as well as the advantages and disadvantages. However, the development of ideas remains limited and the text is abruptly cut off at the end, meaning some points are under-developed. Furthermore, the length requirement has NOT been met, as the response contains only 211 words compared to the required 250 minimum. This under-length impacts the overall task achievement and prevents the score from reaching a higher band. To improve, the student must expand more fully on the given points with relevant examples and ensure the full word count is achieved.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The text demonstrates some overall organisation, but the paragraphing and logical progression are frequently disrupted. The student attempts to use cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost' and 'Moreover', but punctuation errors (e.g., stopping a sentence abruptly at 'First and foremost.') and mechanical transitions hinder smooth flow. Additionally, referencing is sometimes unclear, and the text ends prematurely without a concluding paragraph. Paragraphing is poorly handled, with several very short sentences and broken structures that disrupt the essay layout. For a higher score, the student should focus on forming cohesive paragraphs with clear topic sentences and logical linking words throughout.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The lexical range is limited but minimally adequate for the task. The student successfully uses some appropriate phrases such as 'comfort zone', 'kith and kin', and 'job opportunities'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, such as 'confort', 'Moverover', 'etcetra', 'exploser', 'monotonus', and 'accessability'. Some phrases are awkward or unnatural, such as 'we used to with road and city'. These errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted control of vocabulary and spelling. Expanding vocabulary and proofreading for common spelling mistakes will help elevate this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but structural control is weak. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as missing articles ('in todays world some prefers'), subject-verb agreement issues ('some prefers', 'other prefers', 'job opportunities will increases'), and incomplete sentence fragments ('Instead of moving to new cities some people prefer...', 'There would not scope to learn of el'). Punctuation is also problematic, with incorrect full stops breaking up sentences mid-thought. While basic meaning is generally communicated, the frequency of errors places this firmly in the Band 5 category. Developing better control over complex sentence structures and proofreading for basic grammar will improve this score.
