Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argue that several individuals spend their most of their lives in living close to where they were born because they become habitual of everything and also do not want to seperate from their closest one.
To begin with, one of the important reasons for this is people get attached to their birth place because they know everything such as place, people, surroundings, and also taste of food of that area. As a result, an individual do not want to separate and live their life in other places where everything is strange. For example, its human nature, wherever is their birth place, they get attached with that place also they love to live their life with their parents. Moreover, they are dependable to their parents, and want to live their life happily without caring of anything.
There are number of pros and cons. The first advantages is that they will live freely without caring of anything because people around them are known and living under the protection of parents. For example, an individual do not have to worry about food to eat and any help needed because they can get these things very easily as people are known. However, there are number of disadvantages, the first one is they will be dependent to their parents because they will get everything without doing hardwork and also be parasites. As a result, if their parents will leave then it will be very hard to survive alone also it will be difficult in making decisions what is right and what is wrong.
To conclude, people should always leave their birth place to be independent and learn to survive alone. However, leaving birth place doesnot mean that an individual will for get their closest one and settel their life in a strange place. Therefore, they need to visit their closest one periodically which will strengthen their bonding and also feel that they have their family to take care if anything bad happens.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing reasons why people stay near their birthplace, alongside the advantages and disadvantages. However, some aspects of the response are more fully developed than others. The reasons and the disadvantages receive reasonable coverage with examples such as relying on parents and becoming too dependent, but the advantages are somewhat repetitive, focusing heavily on living freely and not having to worry about food. To move to a higher band, the ideas would need to be more fully extended and supported with greater depth throughout all sections of the task, avoiding circular explanations.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement and successfully bridges into higher band territory by providing a clear logical organisation across distinct paragraphs. Each paragraph has a clear focus, moving from reasons to pros and cons, and finally to a conclusion. However, cohesion is at times a bit mechanical or repetitive in transitions, such as the frequent use of phrases like 'To begin with' and 'There are number of pros and cons'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as pronoun use in 'if their parents will leave'. To achieve the next level, the writer would need to employ a wider variety of cohesive devices more fluidly and manage referencing with greater precision.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'habitual', 'parasites', and 'periodically'. However, there are noticeable word-choice, collocation, and word-form errors that reflect a limited resource. Examples include 'It is often argue' instead of argued, 'seperate', 'dependable to their parents' instead of dependent on, 'first advantages' instead of advantage, and 'settel'. While these errors do not seriously impede communication, they restrict the score. To improve, the writer should focus on mastering word forms, spelling, and standard collocations to ensure greater precision and fewer slips.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'because they become habitual of everything and also do not want to seperate'. There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing articles ('taste of food', 'first advantages'), preposition errors ('attached with that place', 'dependent to'), and subject-verb agreement issues ('an individual do not'). Nevertheless, these errors rarely impede communication. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to increase the frequency of error-free complex sentences and demonstrate better control over articles, prepositions within grammatical patterns, and verb forms.
