Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people may choose living close where they were born because it remenisced memories of their childhood. In my opinion advantages such as loving the place and the disadvantage is too much attached, This essay will examine the advantages and disadvantages of living close to where they born and provide logical conclusion.
The primary benefit of living close is that you already aware how convenient, peaceful sorroundings, cleanliness of the place, and you are already know especially the neighbors they can be easily to approach if i would ask help because they knew your well-being . This is more having a peaceful life. For example the place wher i live developed the place. It has a new built structure such as School,Hospital and mini market. Another reason of advantages you family and friends would easily to visit you because they already know your permanent address since your childhood days.Hense, connectedness of living in the place give us more relaxed and peaceful.
There is,however, an obvious disadvantages in living close where they born. In the philippines. Most married life has being dependent living by their parents or living close to their parent's house. A further major issue is married couple have less privacy, always fighting due to financial contraints, lack of confidence to built a life because it can involved both sides of parents, and the married relationship would not able to learn the responsibilities.Accordingly living close where born married couple prevent this practices becoming more serious.
In sum, living close can be valuable memories and more conveniet, It also allows people to make life peaceful.I feel that the advantages such a helping family, friends and neighbor . I believe that these advantages living close outweigh the disadvantages of being dependent.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing reasons why people live close to their birthplace, alongside the advantages and disadvantages. However, the ideas are limited and under-developed, which keeps the score at this level. While the writer attempts to explain the benefits such as community familiarity and peaceful surroundings, the explanations lack depth and rely on generalized statements. Similarly, the disadvantages focusing on the lack of privacy and financial constraints in multigenerational living arrangements in the Philippines are touched upon, but they remain partially articulated. The writer's position is discernible throughout the essay, yet the support provided for each point is insufficiently extended, leading to a somewhat repetitive conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays some organization with a clear paragraph-by-paragraph structure that attempts to tackle the introduction, reasons, advantages, disadvantages, and conclusion. However, there is no clear overall progression across the text, and the logical flow is frequently disrupted. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or over-used, such as the abrupt transitions between sentences and the mechanical use of transitional markers like 'Hense' and 'In sum'. Additionally, referencing is not always clear, particularly with pronouns like 'it' and 'they' in the second paragraph, making it difficult for the reader to track the subjects being discussed. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion requires better management to guide the reader smoothly from one point to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to communicate the basic arguments of the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items, such as 'convenient', 'peaceful surroundings', and 'financial constraints', but noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling are present throughout the response. Examples include 'remenisced' instead of 'reminds', 'sorroundings' instead of 'surroundings', and 'contraints' instead of 'constraints'. These lexical errors and awkward collocations cause some difficulty for the reader and impede the precision of the argument, reflecting a restricted range of vocabulary suitable for discussing social trends and personal choices.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple sentences alongside attempts at complex forms that are frequently faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors in verb forms, tenses, subject-verb agreement, and articles that cause difficulty for the reader. Notable instances include 'choose living close where they were born', 'you already aware how convenient', and 'married life has being dependent living by their parents'. Punctuation is also erratic, with missing commas and fused clauses. While simple sentences are sometimes controlled, the frequent errors in complex structures and grammatical patterns prevent the response from achieving a higher level of accuracy.
