Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by mentioning reasons why people stay near their birthplace, as well as some advantages and disadvantages, such as emotional happiness and limited personal growth. However, the ideas remain quite limited and under-developed, lacking specific examples or thorough elaboration. Furthermore, the response falls significantly short of the minimum word requirement of 250 words, containing only 157 words, which restricts the overall development of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response presents a coherent overall arrangement with a recognisable introduction and conclusion, fitting the band well. Ideas are divided into logical paragraphs covering reasons, advantages, and disadvantages. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and referencing is not always clear, as seen in transitions like 'I will explain further inparagraph' and 'On the other hand, there are lot of disadvantages of this statment'. Paragraphing is attempted, though formatting is occasionally disrupted.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for basic communication, featuring common words related to the topic such as 'happy', 'education', and 'business'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, but this is accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, form, and spelling, such as 'prefere', 'nearby' instead of 'near', 'broght', and 'outsides'. These errors do not entirely impede communication, but they restrict the range and precision of the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response demonstrates a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with occasional attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing articles, subject-verb agreement issues like 'people born and broght up can makes fell happy', and run-on structures like 'their roots connected their. They enjoing being there.' These frequent errors require some effort from the reader to parse the meaning.
