Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is oftenly believed that some people love to live at the place where they were born and brought up instead of moving to another city or country. The reason behind this is the closeness to the place where they spend most of their lives. There are some advantages and disadvantages of this trend but I believe that remaining close to birthplace can offer some benefits.
The primary reason is that people do not want to leave their childhood home and the friends with whom they spend their childhood. Some people are so much emotional with the place which their parents had made for them with the hard earned money and they are attached with the roots of that particular place. On the top of that, they are familiar with the nearby places, memories they hold, and afraid of moving to another city because they have begin their career again when needs lots of hardwork.
One main advantage of this aspect is that living close to one's birthplace is the healthy relationships with the family, friends and realtives and receive emotional and practical support from them. They are usually familiar with the everday essentials such as grocery stores and healthcare as well as transportation. This can make everday life more convenient and less stressful.
However, staying in the same place throughout life can also have disadvantages. They miss the bigger opportunities and are not able to experience different cultures and other city lifes. People could not be able access to the better college and university in another larger cities and they have limited access to the job postions.
In conclusion, people often remain near their birthplace because of the family connections, familiarity and financial stablity. While this lifestyle provides them comfort but restrict them from other life opportunities. Therefore, I believe that living close to one's place is benefical as long as people open doors for new opportunities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions and give a clear overall view: the essay explains attachment to family, friends, and familiar surroundings, then considers benefits and drawbacks. The advantages are supported with practical examples, such as access to family support, familiar services, and less stressful daily life. The disadvantages—missing opportunities, education, and employment—are relevant, but are listed more briefly and would benefit from explanation or an example. Some reasoning is also unclear, particularly the claim that people fear moving because they would have to “begin their career again”; clarify how this relates to staying near their birthplace. To strengthen the response, develop each main point more evenly and make the final position more precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for reasons and advantages, a contrast paragraph, and a conclusion. The progression is easy to follow, and signposts such as “The primary reason,” “One main advantage,” and “However” help readers identify each stage. This already gives the response a coherent arrangement. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. For example, “The reason behind this is the closeness to the place” repeats the prompt rather than clearly linking the reason to the following explanation, and “On the top of that” is an awkward transition. The conclusion also introduces “financial stability” without developing it earlier. Use more natural transitions and ensure each paragraph’s ideas connect directly to the central point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “emotional support,” “familiar,” “opportunities,” and “limited access,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “hard-earned money” and “childhood home.” However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the writing less natural: “oftenly believed,” “so much emotional with,” “city lifes,” “job postions,” and “financial stablity.” Some repetition of “place” and “people” also limits flexibility. Aim to learn common word partnerships and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise phrasing would make your ideas clearer without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including relative clauses (“the friends with whom they spend their childhood”) and a contrast structure beginning “While this lifestyle provides them comfort.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “they have begin their career again when needs lots of hardwork” has problems with verb form and sentence construction, while “People could not be able access” is missing “to.” In the conclusion, “While this lifestyle provides them comfort but restrict them” combines structures incorrectly and has an agreement error. Practise forming complete clauses and checking verb forms, agreement, and infinitive patterns. Greater control of these structures would make the argument smoother and more reliable.
