Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions: you explain that people stay because they feel familiar with their birthplace and have established relationships, then identify missed job opportunities and limited exposure to other cultures as disadvantages. These points are relevant and your position is clear. However, the advantages are developed more fully than the disadvantages, which are mainly illustrated through a broad contrast between village farming and city jobs. The example about a university study is also vague and does not clearly support the point about local connections. To strengthen the response, explain each main idea more precisely and add a specific, credible example, while developing the disadvantages to a similar depth.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining reasons, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Secondly” and “On the other hand” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, some linking is mechanical, and the introduction’s promise to discuss the topic “in upcoming paragraph” is awkwardly handled. Several ideas repeat, particularly the point that people feel familiar with their birthplace and have connections there. Some references are also unclear, as in “drawbacks of staying on one place in there life.” Use more precise referencing, reduce repetition, and make the relationship between examples and claims clearer to improve the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “childhood,” “connections,” “job opportunities,” “culture,” and “comfort zone,” so the main ideas can be understood. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make the writing less natural. Examples include “individuals way of living,” “known ones,” “exploring the world,” and repeated use of “opportunity.” There are also spelling errors such as “influence,” “opportunities,” and “first.” Aim to use more precise phrases and check spelling carefully. For example, “established social ties” is more natural than “good connections,” and “broaden their horizons” can express the benefit of experiencing other places.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including explanations introduced by “because” and examples introduced by “For instance.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in sentence structure and verb forms sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “where they was born” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “The reasons behind it they feel familiar” is not a complete, well-formed sentence. In “people who live in countryside they don't know,” the clause structure is also faulty. Work on forming complete sentences, matching verbs to subjects, and using articles and prepositions accurately. Breaking long or loosely connected sentences into shorter, controlled units would improve clarity.
