Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The response begins to address the topic by suggesting that people stay near their birthplace to remain connected to their roots and culture. However, it does not explain the reasons in sufficient detail, and it does not discuss both the advantages and disadvantages as requested. The opening also signals a position about benefits but gives no developed comparison or supporting example. The response is substantially below the required minimum length, so there is not enough material to demonstrate a complete answer. To improve, explain several reasons people remain locally, then develop at least one advantage and one disadvantage with a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an introductory statement is followed by a sentence beginning to discuss a benefit. The ideas are nevertheless too limited for a clear progression, and the second sentence ends unfinished at “which gives them sence of”. The opening fragment, “While this may carry numerous social benefits,” is not connected to a complete main clause, so the relationship between ideas is unclear. Use complete paragraphs with a clear purpose, and connect each reason or evaluation to the next using accurate linking expressions. A full response should guide the reader from the reasons for staying to the advantages and disadvantages.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response includes some relevant topic vocabulary, such as “social benefits,” “birth place,” “roots,” and “culture,” showing an attempt to express ideas about identity and belonging. However, the range is very limited, and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or unclear: “wear brought up” appears to mean “were brought up,” “predominent” is misspelled, and “stay connect” does not express the intended meaning naturally. “The chances it facilitates” is also vague and does not clearly identify what opportunities are meant. Build a wider set of precise expressions for family ties, employment, community, and cultural identity, and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
There is an attempt to use a complex opening structure with “While,” but it is left as a fragment: “While this may carry numerous social benefits.” The response also attempts a relative clause in “which gives them…,” although the sentence remains incomplete. These examples show some ability to form more than simple statements, but control is not yet consistent. In “most of the people like to live,” the article use is awkward, and “people live is” lacks a clear grammatical structure. Practise completing subordinate clauses with a main clause, and check verb forms, agreement, and sentence boundaries. More accurate complete sentences would make the intended ideas easier to follow.
