Some people spend most of their life to live in their birthplace. This essay will have both the advantages and disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses both requested areas: it gives reasons for staying near one’s birthplace, such as family ties and familiarity, and identifies disadvantages including fewer job and education options. The conclusion also recognises that people may move to pursue future goals. However, the advantages dominate, while the reasons and disadvantages are not developed evenly. Several points repeat the value of family support, and examples such as “children took time to spend with their families” do not clearly demonstrate the wider claim. The essay’s position is present but not fully shaped into a clear, balanced answer. To strengthen the response, explain how family responsibilities, affordability, or local connections encourage people to stay, then develop each disadvantage with a specific consequence or example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, paragraphs on advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Sequencing is generally understandable, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” and “To sum up” help readers follow the main sections. However, progression within the advantages section is sometimes repetitive: family bonds, support, love, and shared festivals are presented as separate points without a clear hierarchy. Some links are also awkward or unclear, particularly “To live together they know about the feelings” and “In addition to, it learns.” The introduction promises both advantages and disadvantages but does not establish a clear overall position. Group related ideas, use pronouns with clear referents, and make each paragraph develop one central point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “birthplace,” “neighbourhood,” “traditions,” “job opportunities,” and “experiences.” This gives the reader enough context to understand the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated or used in unnatural combinations, such as “make close bond,” “familiar atmosphere,” “show encourage,” and “experiences level.” Word-form and spelling problems, including “stuation,” also reduce accuracy. Aim to learn vocabulary in natural collocations and choose more precise terms rather than repeating “live” and “families.” For example, describe people as having “strong ties” to relatives or facing “limited employment prospects.” These changes would make the argument clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay attempts some longer sentences and uses basic linking structures, for example, “because people make close bond to their families” and “if there has a lack of job choices … they would move.” However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and verb forms occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to interpret. Examples include “Some people spend most of their life to live,” “they celebrates festivals,” and “The families give supports.” The final sentence, “if there has a lack,” also shows an inaccurate conditional structure. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, countable and uncountable nouns, and the structure of conditional sentences during editing.
