Student answer (Band 5.5)

People usally spend their entire life at one place. Some of them spend half of their life spend in the same city or village called hometown. It has its own merits although its has some demerits as well. In this essay I will discuss about its benefits and cons.

To commence with, people loves to spend whole life with their family and loved onces. Majority of the people spend their whole life staying at one place. Masses familiar with the area and everybody knows them in that particular area and they feel safe over there. For example, a child who spend is whole life at same city where he/she born its like a home for them. People who live over there they know eachother. Moreover, People don't feel homesickness and they can easily relate with the culture life. For instance, person who never go away from the city he will never experience homesickness and all the family lived at the same place so they can still connect with the cultural value and rituals.

However, personal career growth will be difficult sometimes. In small hometown they will very less industries and lack of opportunities to grow skills and earning more. To illustrate, in a small town limited industries over their and sometimes no vacancy over there then person become jobless and they can not get exposure of the outer world's skills. To add that, person will not get exposure of other skills which people are using because of the limited resources. In small town all the resources are limited and new technolgy takes a longtime to get in a town. For example, mobile 5G network is easily available in teer 1 cities but there are lot of teer 3 and 4 citites where its not available and they still have to rely on 3G network.

To conclude that, living in a homwtown has lots of pros but personal growth can be ruined and its affects the career's choice as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address the reasons people stay near their birthplace and discuss both benefits and drawbacks. Familiarity, family ties, safety and cultural connection are relevant advantages, while limited jobs, resources and career development provide a relevant disadvantage. However, the response does not fully develop the reasons for staying: family and familiarity are mentioned, but the explanation could clarify why these factors lead people to remain rather than move. The disadvantages receive more detail, including the example of uneven 5G access, though this is less directly connected to personal growth than the employment point. Your conclusion identifies a cost to career development but does not clearly summarise the reasons or balance both sides. Develop each main idea with a clear explanation and a closely relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages and a conclusion. Sequencing is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “However” and “To illustrate” help show relationships between ideas. Some linking is mechanical or repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “For example” and “To add that.” References can also be unclear: “they” in the discussion of small towns and resources does not always identify whether you mean residents or towns. The introduction promises a discussion of benefits and drawbacks, but the reasons for staying are not clearly signposted as a separate part. Use more precise referencing and organise each paragraph around one main point, followed by explanation and evidence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “homesickness,” “career growth,” “limited industries,” “opportunities” and “cultural value and rituals.” These choices allow you to communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, sometimes making the meaning less clear. For example, “loved onces” appears to mean “loved ones,” while “career’s choice” is not a natural way to describe career options. There are also spelling errors such as “usally,” “technolgy” and “citites,” alongside repeated use of “people,” “place” and “limited.” Build accuracy in common collocations and check spelling; more precise wording will make your points clearer without needing overly complex vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional example beginning “if” and clauses introduced by “although” and “because.” However, the range is limited, and attempts at longer structures often contain errors that make the reader pause. Examples include “people loves,” “a child who spend,” and “they will very less industries,” where agreement or sentence structure is faulty. In “Some of them spend half of their life spend,” the verb pattern is also incorrect. Articles and prepositions are sometimes missing or misplaced, as in “at same city” and “in small hometown.” Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles and verb forms before adding extra clauses.
