Student answer (Band 6.0)

Many individuals prefer to spend most of their life in the city or area in which they were born. There are many reasons behind this. I believe, the advantages particularly personal security and the availability of helpful people and famiy, outweight the disadvantages.

To comence with, the main reason of living in place where they born is that the public do not want to come out of their comfort zone. They got everything pre-built such as house and income source. Consequently, they do not need to struggle in life to achieve this. Moreover, some individuals have a lot of respect, love and care for their parents. They consider living with them a duty which allows them to look after them in their old age.

There are severals pros of spending lives living close tto the city they were born. The main advantage is that people get a full secure environment. They deals with individuals everyday that they already knew which allows them to share their family matters or businesses deals. As a result, they can trust on others while doing any high income businesses. The other one is that they always gets someone who is trustworth, to share their problems. For example, a person can always tell their parents about his/her financial needs and get immidiate aid. However, living in city for lifetime where they born reduced the exposer of society and career opporunities, which makes people less intelligent and middle class employees.

To conclude, there are some reasons of spending lives in the home town including comfort zone and sence of love and care. Althought it has some disadvantages such as less job opening, the advantages including secure life and support availability way more than the negative.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions: you give reasons for staying near one’s birthplace, including comfort and caring for parents, and discuss benefits and drawbacks. Your position is also clear in the opening and conclusion: you believe security and support outweigh the disadvantages. The examples about trusting familiar people in business and asking parents for financial help make the advantages more concrete. However, some points are less fully explained. For instance, the claim that staying local makes people “less intelligent” is broad and not clearly supported; explain instead how limited exposure or fewer career options may affect them. The reasons and disadvantages would also benefit from more balanced development and clearer links to the question.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for reasons and advantages, a paragraph that also introduces a disadvantage, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To commence with,” “Moreover,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the main stages. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent overall arrangement and shows some stronger control through paragraphing and progression. However, the advantages and disadvantage are combined in one paragraph, so the shift marked by “However” feels abrupt. Some links are also mechanical, and references such as “the other one” are vague. Give the disadvantage its own focused development and use clearer links between each claim and its explanation.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “comfort zone,” “secure environment,” “career opportunities,” and “financial needs.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “income source” and “trustworthy.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “famiy,” “outweight,” “severals,” “exposer,” and “opporunities” are examples. Some collocations are also unnatural, including “trust on others” and “high income businesses.” Aim for more accurate, natural combinations and check spelling carefully. This would make your meaning clearer and give you greater flexibility in discussing security, family ties, and employment.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “which,” “while,” and “although,” and most of the main ideas remain understandable. Some sentence forms are effective, such as the explanation that familiar relationships allow people to share family or business matters. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “They deals” and “they always gets” should use plural verb forms, while “where they born” needs a passive construction (“where they were born”). The final sentence also has an unclear comparison structure. Review subject–verb agreement and build complex sentences around a clear main clause; this will improve accuracy without sacrificing range.
