Student answer (Band 6.0)

Many people prefer to live all their lives at the place where they were born and brought up because it provides convenience to live as well as development of strong emotional bond between families and friends. However, such continuity have several benefits and drawbacks which I would discuss in this essay.

Firstly, the most crucial reason for this trend is the ease and comfort that people have to live at their birthplace.By already being familiar to the language, customs, and traditions of the place, they do not have to face any difficulty in handling routine situations. For example, by living at the birthplace, a person would already know the legislative rules to follow and can communicate well with the residents in his mother tongue thus living peacefully. Secondly, another reason may be the emotional bonds that people have with their loved ones where they live. Living at the same place throughout their lives, individuals share common beliefs and customs which indulge a sense of harmony and love.

There are several advantages of spending life at someone's place of birth, such as it provides more job opportunities to the people who already know the loca; language and have done education in their own country. Moreover, By living close to their family and friends people have a satisfaction to be loved and cared and consequently may develop more personally and professionally.

Nevertheless, the downside of this trend cannot be neglected. Living all their lives at the same place may hinders individuals' adaptability to change and develop better skills that would only be possible in some other countries. For instance, many developed countries such as America and England have more advanced educational and health systems than Pakistan, which offer better standards of living and more opportunities to grow personally.

In conclusion, people like to live most of their lives at their birth palce because of the convenient lifestyle and emotional conne

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions by giving reasons for staying near one’s birthplace and discussing benefits and drawbacks. Familiarity with language and customs, and closeness to loved ones, are relevant reasons; the examples about knowing local rules and comparing opportunities in Pakistan with those in America and England help make the discussion concrete. However, the advantages are less fully explained than the reasons, and the claim about better job opportunities for people who know the local language is not clearly connected to staying in one’s birthplace. The conclusion is also cut off, so it does not provide a complete summary. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation or example, and finish with a complete concluding statement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for reasons and advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages, and an attempted conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Moreover,” and “Nevertheless” make the progression easy to follow. Some connections are mechanical, however, and the advantages paragraph combines job prospects with emotional support without clearly showing how the ideas relate. The conclusion ends abruptly at “emotional conne,” which disrupts the overall sense of completion. Use transitions that express the precise relationship between ideas, organise each paragraph around one main point, and ensure the final paragraph completes the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “emotional bonds,” “adaptability,” “customs,” and “standards of living.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and some less common expressions show an effort to be precise. At times, though, word choice and collocation are awkward: “indulge a sense of harmony” does not naturally express the intended meaning, and “a satisfaction to be loved and cared” is unclear. There are also spelling and typing slips, including “loca;” and “palce.” Choose more natural combinations, such as “foster a sense of harmony” and “feel loved and cared for,” and proofread carefully for spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning “By already being familiar…” and “which offer better standards of living.” Most of the meaning remains understandable, but some errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries reduce accuracy. For example, “such continuity have” should be “such continuity has,” and “may hinders” should be “may hinder.” The opening also needs a clearer grammatical construction (“it provides convenience to live”), while missing spaces after full stops make sentence boundaries less controlled. Review subject–verb agreement and modal verb patterns, and edit each sentence for punctuation. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen control.
