Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often seen that some individuals spend their whole life in a particular region. While getting a sense of familarity and better developed relationships are the main causes for this development .This arrangement offers certain benefits and drawbacks that i will explain in the upcoming paragraphs.
one major reason is that people develop a sense of familarity with surroundings. This is because they have spent their whole lives in the same house and town. This allows them to feel at ease and more confident about everything. Another major reason is relationships. Living at a same location enables them to develop strong relationships with their parents, friends, and relatives ,and as a result they do not feel the need to relocate to other cities or towns.
The main advantage of living in a childhood area is access to better opportunities . People have better understanding about the jobs market, which helps them make better informed decisions regarding career. If they reside in same town throughout their lives, they may also seek advice from their parents , relatives and friends during challenging situations.
However, it also constraints people from achieving their potential. The reason is that some may not get the adequate opportunities for education and professional development. It also restricts them to get out their comfort zones and accept fresh challenges. Therefore, they could get limited chances to improve themselves and their quality of lives.
In conclusion, people often prefer to stay at one place to enjoy benefits that they get such as better control over their lives through a strong sense of relationship and strong familarity with town.Nevertheless people can manage its negative accepts by looking for other effective alternatives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both questions: it gives reasons for staying near one’s birthplace, then discusses advantages and disadvantages, and maintains a clear overall position that the arrangement has both benefits and drawbacks. The reasons of familiarity and close relationships are relevant, as are the points about career knowledge and limited educational or professional opportunities. However, some ideas are not fully explained. For example, the claim that staying in one town provides “better opportunities” is not clearly reconciled with the later point that people may lack adequate opportunities. Explain what kinds of local knowledge or support create an advantage, and give a specific example to clarify the contrast. The conclusion also mentions managing disadvantages through “effective alternatives” without identifying them.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on reasons, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. This makes the progression easy to follow, and signposts such as “Another major reason” and “However” help distinguish points. The organisation is effective, though some linking is mechanical and a few connections are unclear. For instance, “better opportunities” in the advantages paragraph seems to conflict with the limited opportunities described in the next paragraph; a clearer transition could show that local familiarity helps with available jobs, while the range of opportunities may still be restricted. Improve cohesion by linking each example directly to the claim it supports and by avoiding repeated references to “strong relationships” and “familiarity” in the conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for discussing the topic, with relevant phrases such as “professional development,” “relocate,” and “comfort zones.” The writer also attempts more formal wording, but some choices and collocations are inaccurate or imprecise, which limits flexibility. For example, “better developed relationships” and “strong familiarity with town” sound unnatural, while “constraints people from achieving” does not express the intended meaning accurately. There are also spelling and word-form slips, including “familarity” and “accepts” where “aspects” is intended. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for local ties, employment prospects, and personal growth would make the discussion clearer without relying on repeated general phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex forms, including cause-and-effect clauses such as “This is because…” and “which helps them…”. Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in sentence boundaries, articles, agreement, and punctuation. For example, the opening has an unnecessary space before the full stop and joins sentences incorrectly: “development .This arrangement…”. Other examples include “at a same location,” “If they reside in same town,” and “people can manage its negative accepts,” where article use or pronoun agreement is faulty. There are also missing spaces after full stops and inconsistent capitalisation of “I.” Review articles and pronoun reference, and proofread punctuation so that the range of sentence forms is expressed more accurately.
