Your friend has been offered a place on a course at the university where you studied. He/She would like your advice about finding a place to live.

Write an email to your friend. In your email

• describe where you lived when you were a student at the university
• recommend the best way for him/her to look for accommodation
• warn him/her of mistakes students make when choosing accommodation

Dear Pep,

I am writing with regards to advising you about finding a place to live as a student.

While I was student at University of Waterloo, I used to live at Sunrise appartment which is in close proximity to University main campus. Also, its very close to public library and gym, which made it very convenient for me to make most out of my time.

The best way to look for accomodation is to explore options on Facebook Marketplace, many student post sublet lease that can provide a hefty amount of discount on private rooms. Moreover, there are many websites that provides lots of private or sharing room options, which makes your life easy.

Many students choose their accomodation far from the Unversity to save some money as it can be a cheaper option, but they end up spending lot of time travelling to attend classes. This thing can make burden on many students, as they dont get much time working on their assignments and projects.
