IELTS Writing Task 1 question

Your friend has been offered a place on a course at the university where you studied. He/She would like your advice about finding a place to live.

Write an email to your friend. In your email

• describe where you lived when you were a student at the university
• recommend the best way for him/her to look for accommodation
• warn him/her of mistakes students make when choosing accommodation

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Rahul,

I hope you are doing well. I am very happy because you have been offered a place on a course at the university.

When I studied at university, I lived on the bank road which is quiet near the university. There is only five minutes walk heading to the university. I think you have to find the accommodation near the institute.

There are number of free websites where you can find place for live. According to me, Kijiji is one of the best app, it can helps you to find the suitable place. Moreover, Take advise from international student coordinator because he also has a list of available accommodations near the university.

While choosing the place, be careful about the advance deposit. In addition, do not find place far from university because in winters its quiet hard to reach the college due to heavy snow. At last, keep in mind that there should be market around your place as well.
