Write an email to your friend. In your email

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your email as follows:

Dear ..........,

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Pritesh,

I am writing this letter to inform you about my experiences of living in student residents as I know that you got offer from same education institute as me.

I was staying in the student resident which is located five minutes walk from the university. It is 10 floor building with blue and green color painted. The accommodation was neat and clean and you can also get two free amenities which included swimming pool and gym so you don't need to go anywhere else. It is amazing place to live.

There are numerous ways to find good place to live. I would suggest contact realtor as they are familiar with area and know what are students requirements.

Moreover, another way is to visit university website where you have option to find accommodation.

Most of the learner are doing same mistake every time time is the they forget that they will 30% discount if they will live in college accommodation so don't do that. The second one is check room or condo have machines for loundry or not because if they don't have so it would take more time for washing your clothes as you have to go outside for it.

Best regards,

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: describing your past accommodation, recommending a search method, and warning about common mistakes. The tone is appropriate for an email to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the warning about the 30% discount is a bit unclear, and the advice regarding laundry could be more effectively explained. To reach a higher band, ensure that your explanations are fully developed and provide more specific, logical details to support your recommendations, which would make the advice more practical and helpful for your friend.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The email is organized into logical paragraphs, each focusing on a specific part of the prompt. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'The second one is', which help the flow. However, the progression between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel abrupt. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the final paragraph where the connection between the discount and the warning could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'amenities', 'realtor', and 'accommodation'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor errors, such as 'student residents' instead of 'student residence' and 'learner' instead of 'students'. Some phrasing is repetitive or slightly unnatural, such as '10 floor building with blue and green color painted'. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that your word choices are precise and contextually appropriate for an informal email.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including missing articles ('the area', 'the university'), subject-verb agreement issues ('Most of the learner are doing'), and tense inconsistencies ('you will 30% discount'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and sentence construction will help you improve.
