Dear Manu,

I hope you are doing fine . first of all congratulations for getting accepted at the university . Since you will be moving put of home you need a place to stay close to university .I can refer you to the same acomodation that hosted me when i ws pursuing my studies at university.

I lived two blocks away from the school at mr. yungs place, he was very kind a warm hearted host .I will give you his contact information.although this is may intake pek season for students to moving in so there is a great possibility that place already might be occupied .In that case, there is a website called marketplace ,that how i found mr. yung .You can search for accomodations choosing the area close to university.but be very aware of fake postings there are multiple scammers on these apps, never send funds prior signing the rental agreement in person.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You described your previous living situation, recommended a method for finding accommodation, and provided a warning about potential scams. The tone is appropriate for an email to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat brief. For instance, while you mention 'Mr. Yung's place', adding a bit more detail about why it was a good location or what the facilities were like would have made the response more engaging and fully developed. Overall, the task is completed successfully with a clear and consistent focus throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The email is generally coherent, and the progression of ideas is logical. You move smoothly from the introduction to your personal experience, then to recommendations, and finally to the warning. However, the paragraphing is weak; the entire body of the email is presented as one block of text, which makes it harder to read. Using clear paragraph breaks between the different points (the description, the recommendation, and the warning) would significantly improve the structure. Additionally, some cohesive devices are missing or used awkwardly, such as the transition 'although this is may intake pek season', which is grammatically unclear.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your message, but there are several spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'acomodation', 'ws', 'cann', and 'pek'. These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable. While you successfully use some relevant vocabulary like 'rental agreement' and 'scammers', the overall lexical control is limited. To reach a higher band, you should focus on accuracy in spelling and attempt to use more precise collocations. For example, instead of 'reach me out', a more natural expression would be 'reach out to me' or 'get in touch'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include missing articles ('close to university'), incorrect verb forms ('students to moving in'), and punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after commas and periods. The sentence 'although this is may intake pek season for students to moving in so there is a great possibility that place already might be occupied' is quite convoluted and contains multiple errors. While the meaning remains clear, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for punctuation would be beneficial.
