Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Preet ,
Many many congratulations.I am so happy that you are selected at your desired university in which I studied.I read your email that you are tensed about your accomadation.
When I was a student ,I rent a private apartment. The main reason,I live in an apartment is that its not much far and it take 15 minutes to go by bus to reach the campus . Moreover, all utilities inculded.
The best appropriate way to look for accomodation is college website accomadation page where you can choose accomodation according to your own choice. Also, the advertisement on official website so there is no risk that its fraud.
Most of students make mistakes that they take their accomodation where rent is less and they have to suffer from facilities such as transporation , electricity. I advise you to see accomodation which includes all the utilities.
If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask me .
Yours loving friend
Taran

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three requested points: you explain that you rented a private apartment, recommend the university’s accommodation page, and warn against choosing a place solely because the rent is low. The advice is relevant and the friendly email format is appropriate. The response also gives useful details, such as the bus journey taking 15 minutes and utilities being included. However, the description of your former accommodation is brief, and the warning could be more specific—for example, explain how to check transport links or confirm which bills are included before signing. This covers the task well overall, while some ideas remain less developed than they could be.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The email has a clear overall sequence: greeting and congratulations, your own housing experience, a recommendation, a warning, and a friendly closing. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these different purposes, and linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “Also” show how details relate. Some connections are less smooth, however: “Also, the advertisement on official website” does not clearly explain how advertisements relate to the university page, and the transition from low rent to problems with facilities could be more explicit. A few ideas are packed together without clear punctuation. Use complete sentences and more precise links between the recommendation and its supporting reasons to make the progression more natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate the main advice, including “private apartment,” “campus,” “utilities,” and “accommodation.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “accomadation,” “accomodation,” “inculuded,” and “transporation.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “the best appropriate way” and “there is no risk that its fraud.” These choices do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, but they reduce precision and fluency. Aim to use standard spellings consistently and learn natural collocations for housing advice, such as “check the listing’s legitimacy” and “well-connected to campus.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Your message includes simple sentences and some attempts to combine ideas, for example, “The main reason, I live in an apartment is that…” and “where you can choose accommodation according to your own choice.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors in tense, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur often enough to affect smooth reading. For example, “When I was a student, I rent” should use a past-tense verb, while “it take 15 minutes” needs subject–verb agreement. The sentence beginning “Most of students make mistakes that…” is also structurally unclear. Practise accurate past-tense narration and build complex sentences around clear main clauses.
