Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You identify where you studied, naming Ludhiana and Satish Chander Dhawan College, and mention that nearby PG accommodation is available. However, the task is only minimally addressed: you do not clearly describe your own living arrangements, give a practical method for searching, or offer specific warnings about accommodation mistakes. The comments about students choosing the wrong course are not directly relevant to choosing a place to live. The email also contains only 124 words, below the required 150, so there is not enough development to cover the three points. Explain where you lived, recommend concrete search steps such as contacting the university or checking listings in person, and warn about issues such as paying before viewing a room.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the message into an opening and two further paragraphs, and the reader can identify that you are discussing your studies and accommodation. However, the ideas do not progress clearly from describing your past living situation to giving advice and warnings. The sentence beginning “Now you cane from your study here” is difficult to follow, and the final paragraph shifts to course choices rather than developing the accommodation advice. Some links, such as “so” and “because,” are used, but they do not make the relationships between ideas clear. Use one paragraph for each task point and connect each recommendation or warning directly to the friend’s situation.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant vocabulary, including “college,” “degree,” “nearby,” and “PG,” which helps establish the university and accommodation context. However, the range is limited, and several word choices or forms make the message unclear, such as “mangae to find your college” and “another type of course chose.” “PG” may also be unfamiliar to some readers; spell out “paying guest accommodation” the first time. Spelling errors such as “digree” and “chose” further reduce clarity. Build a more precise set of accommodation terms—such as “student housing,” “room,” “rent,” and “landlord”—and choose verbs that express the advice directly, for example, “search for” or “compare.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both short statements and longer sentences, and the main topic is sometimes understandable. However, control of basic sentence forms is inconsistent. For example, “I hope you doing well” is missing an auxiliary verb, while “I lived in ludhiana for my digree” does not clearly express the intended relationship between studying and living there. The sentence “Now you cane from your study here” also has an unclear structure, and several clauses are joined without clear punctuation. Practise complete sentences with a subject and verb, accurate past and present forms, and clear clause boundaries. For instance, separate the description of your college from the statement about nearby accommodation, then use a direct sentence to give each piece of advice.
