Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Hritik,
I hope you are doing well. I am very happy to hear that you have been offered a course at Amity university. It is one of the most reputed institute across the city. I understand that it is challenging task to find an accomodation. I have lived outside the campus with my friends during my study. We have rented an apartment in the center of the city because of the convenient transportation.
If you are looking for shared unit, you may be able to find on social sites such as Facebook marketplace and Kiji. I have observed that many people used to post an advertise over there. You can also contact Accomodate company because they are well known for student apartment. Although they are expensive, you may choose this option if you do not find anything.
I suggest you to read a contract before you sign for a unit because you never know if there are any hidden clauses. I advice you to be careful in this matter.
All the best for your program. Let me know if you have any question. I would love to help you.
Thanks
Kind regards,
Vaibhav

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points and maintain a friendly, appropriate tone. The description of living “outside the campus with my friends” in a city-centre apartment gives your friend a useful starting point, and you recommend both social-media listings and a student accommodation company. Your warning about reading the contract also responds to the task. To make the advice more fully developed, explain what to check beyond hidden clauses—for example, rent, bills, deposit, location, or the condition of the property. The recommendation to use Facebook Marketplace and Kijiji is relevant, but a brief note about verifying listings would make it more useful. The response covers the task clearly, though some advice remains general rather than fully supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The email is organised in a clear sequence: you introduce your own housing experience, suggest ways to search, give a warning, and close warmly. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these purposes, and transitions such as “If you are looking for” and “Although they are expensive” make the advice easy to follow. The progression is logical and the reader can understand how each point relates to the task. To strengthen cohesion further, connect the warning more explicitly to the suggested search methods—for instance, advise your friend to verify a social-media listing before paying a deposit. Some links between ideas are brief, but overall the organisation is clear and effective.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for a friendly accommodation email, including “convenient transportation,” “shared unit,” “hidden clauses,” and “student apartment.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and the tone is generally suitable. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “post an advertise,” “Accomodate company,” and “reputed institute.” There are also spelling errors in “accomodation” and “Kiji,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural phrases such as “post an advertisement,” “accommodation agency,” and “well-regarded university.” More precise housing vocabulary, including “lease,” “deposit,” and “utilities,” would also help you give specific advice.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple sentences and more complex forms, including “Although they are expensive, you may choose this option if you do not find anything.” Most of the message remains understandable, and the sentence structures suit an informal email. Some grammatical errors persist, however: “It is one of the most reputed institute” has an agreement error, “I understand that it is challenging task” is missing an article, and “I suggest you to read” uses an incorrect verb pattern. “I advice you” also has a word-form problem. Review articles, subject–verb agreement, and verb patterns such as “suggest that you read” or “advise you to read.” Greater accuracy across these structures would improve control.
