Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people agree that this century is the best for living. I also support this statement and there are other history would be interesting to live in too. My justification argued in following paragraph.
An increasing number of people are support that this century is the best time in history to be living because of the easily available modern equipment, technology. Since technology was invented, it has become easier for students to learn subjects. For example, the students are getting help from chatgpt for preparing presentation, learning new subject and also, improve their skills in particular subjects. As a result, more and more people are think that this is the perfect time to live. In addition, adults are busy in inventing the modern equipment with the use of a recourses.
I believe that living in ancient history where humans are facing difficulties for arranging food or transportation is other best time to live in. Because of the problems faced by the humans who were born at that time is very crucial to understand for modern people. We have to tech our younger generation about the ancient people how they survive, how they used to hunting and transport the food from one place to another. Although many people finds this history boring, it has a wide range of life learning opportunities if we adopt only one then our life gonna be change.
To conclude, I believe that this modern era is the best for living in the history because of wide range of advancement and easily available information for students.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, but the development of ideas is inconsistent. While the argument for the modern era is supported by examples like ChatGPT, the second part regarding ancient history is underdeveloped and somewhat confusing. The student suggests that living in ancient times would be 'the other best time' because of the difficulties faced, but the reasoning is not clearly linked to why it would be 'interesting' to live there. The position is clear, but the explanation lacks depth and logical progression, leading to a somewhat superficial treatment of the second prompt requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'My justification argued in following paragraph' and 'is other best time to live in'. The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the third paragraph where the connection between learning from ancient survival and the prompt's requirement is weak. The overall flow is functional but lacks the flexibility required for a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'are support that', 'busy in inventing', and 'if we adopt only one then our life gonna be change'. These errors occasionally impede the flow of the text. The student relies on basic vocabulary and struggles to use less common items accurately. To improve, the student should focus on collocations and more formal academic phrasing rather than conversational structures.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('more and more people are think'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. For example, 'there are other history would be interesting' is grammatically incorrect. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. The student should focus on proofreading for basic sentence construction and ensuring consistent verb forms.
