Student answer (Band 6.5)
Many individuals believe 21st century is the best time to live in compare to other time in history. I agree today is the best time to live and following paragraph will discuss how. If I have to choose living in any other time would be before world war.
In my opinion, currently with the advancement of technology and easy access to everything makes 21st century an idea time to live. The communication and transportation has become so advance which connect people from all over the globe. For instance, travelling to overseas has possible due to invention of air craft, due to which numbers of students and workers can travel to get the best education and earn money to improve the future of the family. Furthermore, it made travel easy so people who can afford can take trips to different country and explore their culture and cuisines.
If not now then I would be interested living in before world war. The reason why because life was simple, away from all the amenities and chaos. Before people were living in the moment without worrying about the future. Additionally, there was no advancement in technology so people was really living in the moment and spend time together. To simplify, travel to a different city was taking a month and during that time travelers were spending time by talking to each other, sharing their stories and learning for their experience which bind people together.
In conclusion, due to easy accessibilities and all the facilities today's time is the best time to live. However, if we look back before war people tend to live more peacefully with whatever conveniency they had.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the opinion on the current era and the choice of a historical period. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention technology and travel, the explanation remains quite general. For example, you state that travel allows people to 'improve the future of the family' without providing a specific example or deeper analysis. Similarly, the section on the pre-war era is a bit vague, relying on broad assertions about 'simplicity' and 'chaos' rather than concrete historical context. To reach a higher band, ensure that each main idea is supported by a specific, well-explained example.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central topic. There is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'For instance', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed, such as the transition between the second and third sentences in the introduction. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your opinions clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'advancement of technology', 'amenities', and 'conveniency'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'idea time' (should be 'ideal time') and 'travelling to overseas' (should be 'travelling overseas'). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and you rely on repetitive phrasing. To improve, try to incorporate more precise adjectives and varied collocations to demonstrate a wider range of lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('people was really living', 'people tend to live'), missing articles ('before world war'), and awkward phrasing ('The reason why because'). While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage will help improve your accuracy significantly.
