IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Some people say that now is the best time in history to be living.

What is your opinion about this?

What other time in history would be interesting to live in?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The time and history has been changed due to advancement in technology and science. Some people considered that they are living in the best period of life in the history as compared to earlier time. Although, presently we have numerous facilities which made our life more convenient for survive, but I am not completely agree with the statement as people life is better now in the history.

First of all, the most prominent reason why people think that they are living in the precious time in the history. Due to the availability of technology and science which is not only made their life more convenient but also provide them opportunity to connect globally. Previously, people have to do their all tasks at home as well as their workplace manually which was consuming person energy and immense of time. Which is replaced by robots and machines. For instance, vaccums and mopping machines do the cleaning in few minutes. Same At work place, machines do the loading and unloading of products. which was done by humans in the ancient time. Therefore, people think presently they are spending best time of life.

In my opinion, previous time was superior in the history due to social bonding and family members caring for each other. But it is took place by modern devices. Eareier, people

spend most the time with community members by doing different kinds of activities, organizing functions which is disappeared now. people give more preference to indoor activities by playing video games and chatting with friends on social media as compared to interact with people who are near them. Moreover family members interaction is also reduced due to hectic work schedule of parents. That is the most primarcy reason they can not provide sufficient time to their children. Thus, the love and affection between family members and societal members decreased significantly in the current history.

In conclusion, while the current facilities which is provide thragh technology and science made our eye more efficient by saving diligent work done through machines, but it also reduced the social and family relationships remarkably which was superior in the past time. Since everybody give attention and time to their family members and community instead of conversation with online friends.
