Student answer (Band 6.5)

In my opinion, I believe yes we all are living in the best time period of the history even.

Because, If I talked about previous generations they are always fighting to get each other lands, money, kingdoms or their women's. But now we are the safest generation we have legal rights, rules, constitution and judiciary.

We are not facing any kind of discrimination, harassment openly. In the country like Canada women's feel safe walking at nights that never ever happened in the history where we live and express ourself that much freely every single individual have the equal rights as per the constitution. Mankind got completely evolved after the invention of technology.

We have a millions of books every field, case studies or even more. Today's people enjoy to talk each other from thousand of miles away from each other. Moreover, in the past centuries we have to send letters for communication that takes days up to months if the person is in other country.

Everything have their own multiple advantages and disadvantages. For example, we are also cursed by overload information humans have a variety of options that we are unable to chose the right one on right time that's why some people struggling with health problems like anxiety or depression.

Furthermore, If I talked about the most interesting time period in the history. According to me, it's early 10th century because that time period have importance in our Ancient texts and Vedas. The battle of Mahabharat that's gives me the goosebumps.

In the end, I conclude now is the best time to live freely without any rage or battle.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the opinion on whether this is the best time to live and the identification of another interesting historical period. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention safety and technology, the arguments lack depth and specific evidence. For instance, the claim that we are not facing any discrimination is a broad over-generalisation that could be challenged. The second part of the prompt regarding the 10th century is mentioned but not fully explored or connected to why it would be 'interesting' to live in, beyond a brief mention of ancient texts. To improve, ensure each point is supported with more detailed reasoning and concrete examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly awkward, such as starting sentences with 'Because,' or 'In the end, I conclude.' The logical progression between ideas is sometimes interrupted by abrupt transitions. For example, the shift from discussing modern technology to the disadvantages of information overload is a bit sudden. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph flows naturally into the next would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'discrimination,' 'harassment,' and 'constitution.' However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'fighting to get each other lands' instead of 'fighting over land,' and 'Mankind got completely evolved' instead of 'has evolved.' Additionally, there are minor errors in pluralisation, such as 'women's' instead of 'women' and 'a millions of books.' To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that your word forms are accurate in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there is a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Everything have their own'), tense inconsistencies (e.g., 'If I talked about' instead of 'If I talk about'), and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and apostrophes. While the meaning is generally clear, the persistent grammatical slips prevent the writing from reaching a higher level of accuracy. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be very beneficial.
