IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Some people say that now is the best time in history to be living.

What is your opinion about this?

What other time in history would be interesting to live in?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is often considered by some people that the current phase of living is the best in the history. I also considered that it is the best comparing to the others past years.

To begin with, technology plays a very essential role in considering this time is the best for living. Nowadays life has become very easy, it is replacing human beings. More of the task are done by technology which give more time to individuals to relax and to focus on whatever activities they want to do. For example, in current time students are using AI for their homework and their assignments, which gives them accurate information and more effective ideas. Moreover, teachers have to do less efforts for teaching, they are using technology for making notes and slides.

Additionally, I do not think that any other time can be interesting to live in. In past years there were no facilities like we have currently. For example children were not having any digital devices for passing their time, they did not have any technology to do something for them. They were used to do all the tasks by themselves. No doubt, they did hard work but children nowadays are more productive and this time is more interesting than any past time.

In conclusion, I would like to say that although this is the best time in comparison to the past years but there is a lot more coming and the upcoming years will be more interesting for people for sure.
