Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, but the development is insufficient. The essay is under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of your arguments. While you clearly state your opinion on the current era, the second part of the prompt—discussing another interesting time in history—is vague. You refer generally to your 'grandparents' time' without specifying a historical period or providing concrete examples of why that era would be interesting to live in. To improve, you should expand your ideas with specific historical context and ensure you meet the word count requirement to allow for full development of your points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate, such as 'considering the older year are also not non considerable'. The progression of ideas is logical, but the transitions between paragraphs could be smoother. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall flow is hindered by the brevity of the response. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and phrases to connect your sentences and paragraphs more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'technological evolution' and 'convenient'. However, there are several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'boon compare to', 'instace', 'shoping', and 'trande'. These errors occasionally distract the reader but do not prevent understanding. You rely on some repetitive phrasing and basic vocabulary. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and pay closer attention to spelling and collocations to ensure your writing sounds more professional and polished.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('online sites' vs 'every online site') and incorrect preposition usage ('living in history' instead of 'living in the past'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. You should focus on proofreading your work to correct basic errors and practice constructing more complex sentences with accurate grammatical control.
