Student answer (Band 5.0)
I wouldn’t say that. Because after technological improvements, people trying to catch up what is going on, but they are always late. We can not blame them. I am 28 and I would love to live 2010’s at my 28 years old. Because socialization with technological improvements and trying to live with that is so hard. Some people couldn’t fit in that. These are making people unsocialized. Everybody tired of living in my country. Because technology is aiming people’ moment pleasures. It is changing their nature. I always dreaming about back to the past years. I am not sure about everybody thinks like me. I always say that, if something getting easier, it gets cheaper. Thats why people can not satisfy in their daily life. They are not living the moment. They don’t like to build some serious relationship with their friends.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 142 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you attempt to address the prompt by expressing an opinion on the current era and mentioning a preference for the 2010s, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting examples or depth. The response is too brief to fully explore the complexities of the topic, resulting in a fragmented discussion that does not meet the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no introduction or conclusion, and the ideas are presented in a single, short paragraph. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'Because' at the start of sentences. The progression of ideas is difficult to follow because the sentences do not flow logically from one to the next. To improve, you should organize your response into distinct paragraphs with clear topic sentences and use a wider variety of linking words to connect your thoughts.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express complex ideas. Phrases like 'technological improvements' and 'living the moment' are used repeatedly. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'unsocialized' (instead of 'antisocial' or 'socially isolated') and 'aiming people’ moment pleasures' (which is unclear). To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary and use more precise terms to describe the impact of technology and your personal preferences.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with sentence fragments, such as 'Because after technological improvements, people trying to catch up what is going on, but they are always late.' Subject-verb agreement and tense usage are inconsistent, for example, 'I always dreaming about back to the past years.' The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. You need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction and incorporating a wider variety of complex grammatical structures to improve your accuracy.
