Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is the believe of some people that history will remember the present days as the best time to live in. Personally, I agree with this statement because a lot of inventions that makes life easier are created in the present time. Although, I think the time when all women needed to do was stay home and make babies would also be regarded as an interesting time.
Firstly, the invention of appliances like washing machines to save time and energy , cars for ease in place of horses and aircrafts instead of always using sea as a means of transportation will be stamped in time and make this generation an envy to the future generation because the population of smart people in the present generation is more than theirs. In addition, there is a rise in the number of musicians in the present population that make music genuinely without the use of Artificial intelligence. There would be a rise in the use of AI to make music in the future and the present generation will be the last to experience music that was written from the heart and that the population can relate to.
However, i think the times when all women had to do was get married, stay pretty and and make babies would be interesting to live in. I am particularly interested in how this felt for the woman considering that they know no other life. An article stated that women in those times wanted more and that birthed feminism which liberated all women socially, financially and make the autonomous beings responsible for their own body.
Ultimately, the present has made itself an envy for future generations and the birth of feminism in history has made that time an interesting time to want to be in.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the opinion on the present day and the selection of an interesting historical period. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The argument for the present day is supported by examples like technology and music, though the claim about the 'population of smart people' is a generalization. The second part regarding the historical period is less clearly linked to the prompt's requirement for an 'interesting' time, as the focus shifts quickly to the emergence of feminism rather than the experience of living in that era. The position is clear, but the depth of analysis could be improved to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'In addition', and 'However' are used to guide the reader through the argument. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Referencing is mostly effective, though the connection between the paragraph on feminism and the prompt's request for an 'interesting' time is a bit abrupt. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and the flow of information is easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their opinions clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'autonomous beings' and 'liberated', which add some sophistication. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'It is the believe of some people' (should be 'belief') and 'make the autonomous beings' (should be 'making'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('inventions that makes life easier' should be 'make') and punctuation errors (extra spaces before commas). While the writer attempts complex sentences, these are often where the errors occur. Despite these slips, the meaning remains clear throughout the response. To improve, the writer should focus on proofreading for basic agreement and ensuring consistent verb tense usage.
