Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you address the first part of the prompt regarding the current era, you completely omit the second part of the task: discussing another time in history that would be interesting to live in. Furthermore, the essay ends abruptly mid-sentence, leaving the argument incomplete. To improve, you must ensure all parts of the prompt are addressed and provide a full, structured conclusion. The lack of development and the failure to answer the second question result in a low score for task achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'Although', but the flow is disrupted by the abrupt ending. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the lack of a concluding paragraph makes the overall structure feel unfinished. To improve, focus on linking your ideas more smoothly and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by supporting details, leading to a coherent conclusion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several word-choice errors, such as 'collecting achievements' instead of 'making advancements' and 'dispensing a vast of amount' which is grammatically incorrect. You also use repetitive phrasing. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and collocations. Focus on using words in their correct context rather than relying on basic descriptors, and pay closer attention to word forms and prepositions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'Some individual believes' (subject-verb agreement), 'I am completely agree' (incorrect verb form), and 'there a many challenges' (missing verb). The sentence structures are relatively simple, and the attempt at complex sentences often results in errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and article usage. Practice writing complex sentences using subordinating conjunctions correctly, and proofread your work to catch simple slips in tense and number.
