Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some individuals believe that the current time is the best to live in the whole history. This essay will discuss the reasons such as advance technology, proficient medical cures and my opinion in the upcoming paragraphs.

The main reason for considering the current time as the best time to live is the advancement in the technology. Although humans can work by themselves, machines were made to make work easy for humans. For instance, workers will make a house in a year but with the help of machines that house will be made in a month or in couple of days only. Furthermore, another reason is the advancement in the medical science. Most of the diseases will be procured in this era. As a result the average age of population is increased. Moreover, most of the treatments are painless which will motivate the individuals to operate for the illness.

In my opinion, I agree with the facts that now is the best time to live on this planet with either the advance treatments or the ease of work due to technology. Most importantly, the democratic countries are well established and people have the right to choose the place to live instead of living in a kingdom of a king and fought their wars without any reasons. In addition to this, If I got a chance to live in a time period in history then the admen and eve was the best time to live without any stress and expectations.

In conclusion, living in the current period is the best time to live. Everything changes with time and the advancement in the technology and medical science makes life easier in this era.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the current era and a historical alternative. However, the development is somewhat superficial. While you mention technology and medicine, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. For instance, the claim that 'most diseases will be procured' is unclear and likely a misuse of the word 'procured' (perhaps you meant 'cured'). The second part of the prompt regarding a historical time is addressed briefly with a mention of 'Adam and Eve', but this lacks historical context or logical justification. To improve, ensure each point is supported by a clear, well-explained example rather than general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow between ideas is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear. For example, the transition to the historical part of the prompt feels abrupt. The paragraphing is sufficient, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be strengthened by ensuring that each sentence builds logically upon the previous one. The use of cohesive devices is generally appropriate, but they are sometimes used in a repetitive or slightly forced manner.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choice, such as 'proficient medical cures' and 'operate for the illness', which do not sound natural in this context. The word 'procured' is used incorrectly to mean 'cured'. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the lack of precision hinders the clarity of your arguments. To reach a higher band, focus on learning collocations and using more sophisticated synonyms for common words like 'good' or 'easy'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Examples include 'in the whole history' (should be 'in history'), 'the advancement in the technology' (unnecessary article), and 'If I got a chance... then the admen and eve was' (incorrect tense and capitalization). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage.
