In this contemporary world, People think that living in present is better than the lives lived in history. Generally, people always argues about their current time in comparision to the past or future. I agree that now is the best time in history to be living.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the opinion on whether the present is the best time to live and the identification of another interesting historical period. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While the first paragraph establishes a clear position, the subsequent arguments are somewhat disjointed. The discussion about the 'millennial' generation is slightly confusing, as it is unclear if the student refers to the turn of the millennium or the generation itself. Furthermore, the supporting examples, such as the mention of students in villages, lack sufficient detail to fully support the claims made. The response would benefit from more focused, logical expansion of each point.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression between them is sometimes weak. While cohesive devices like 'However', 'Secondly', and 'Moreover' are used, they are occasionally applied in a way that does not clearly link the preceding and following ideas. For instance, the transition between the benefits of digital tools and the concerns about their vulnerability is abrupt. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly in the fourth paragraph where the connection between the 'millennial' generation and the argument for it being an interesting time is not fully explained. The overall structure is present but lacks a smooth flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of awkward word choices and spelling errors, such as 'lerans' instead of 'learns', 'agrressive' instead of 'aggressive', 'vase knopwledge' instead of 'vast knowledge', and 'script' used in an unclear context. The student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'automated innovation' and 'vulnerability', but these are not always used in the most natural way. To reach a higher band, the student needs to focus on more accurate spelling and more precise collocations to convey their ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people always argues', 'This tools provide'), article usage (e.g., 'in present', 'in the millennial'), and pluralisation errors. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. The student should focus on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with verb forms and noun phrases, before attempting more complex structures.
