Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people believe now is the best time to living as compared to the past history period.I my opinion the statement is valid for couple reasons.
Firstly, basic human need has been fulfilled . healthcare ,ease of food ,security and other multiple factors has changed drastically .whereas, in the past these things were luxury only individuals with wealth could afford them .For example, I live in Canada and we have free healthcare here for everyone .further more crime has been declined drastically and kept under control by our police and national security services ,which makes livng more enjoyable and safe.
Secondly, technology has advanced to a comforting level.talking to a relative on a phone might not even exist in the past but today we can talk or video call anyone around the globe which has been beneficial not only personally but professionally as-well.
Moreover, labour dignity . Modern era offer great services and the most crucial is dignity to you work and facilities toward it. For example , we today have employment insurances in case you get injured or any reason miss work for long period of time you get compensated by the government.
Besides all the good things of this era ,if i ever got a chance i would want to live through Roman empire era as a overly wealthy and unbeatable ruler.
Overall, there were many great times in history but living in todays era is much more convenient plus safe and is the best time to be alive.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the opinion on the current era and the historical period one would like to visit. However, the development is somewhat uneven. While the arguments regarding healthcare and technology are relevant, they are presented in a list-like fashion without deep exploration. The section on the Roman Empire is quite brief and lacks specific reasoning as to why that era would be interesting beyond personal wealth. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your ideas with more detailed examples and ensure the connection between your arguments and the prompt is more robustly established.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Moreover' to signal transitions. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences is disjointed, such as the sudden transition to the Roman Empire. Additionally, punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after periods and incorrect capitalization, occasionally disrupt the reading flow. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring consistent paragraph structure would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'healthcare', 'employment insurances', and 'compensated'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word forms, such as 'best time to living' instead of 'best time to live' and 'past history period' which is redundant. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive sentence structures. Expanding your range to include more sophisticated academic vocabulary would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('basic human need has been fulfilled' should be 'needs have'), missing articles ('in the past' vs 'in the past history'), and inconsistent capitalization. There are also several punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after full stops and incorrect hyphenation ('as-well'). While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these minor errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammar and punctuation will significantly improve your score.
