Student answer (Band 4.0)

The timeline we are living in right now actually its not bad no its worse , many people think they living in he most happy years of the technolgy and computers but that all wrong because evrey timeline in the human history was the same thing every one thinks its the best and they are so future in but that all wrong because , when a human born hearing about grandpa stories and reading them when he looks to his world the normal human will say we are actually more future and we are intelligent and the generation after will say the same thing so its actually same and its normal to find new things and the real way to see if this generation the best we need to see how our communications with other be like because god Allah created us smart and intelligent but humans are weak so god made us special with our mind and communication so the best generation is the generation with more communication and happy living and people love what they doing comparing old generations to our generation its actually getting worse and even scientist said this generation is so weak mind thinking and full of brainwashing and social media , and even communication is this generation people started to stay all day on their phones does not know how the out world is even like or how it be , and what iam saying is true if you put my words in your mind and looked at our generation you will see every one on his phone and his own life and even what he does say life is actually not a life and finally no generation is better than other but this generation was supposed to be better in communication and smart people when they saw our old generation they forgot communication and run into a word called technolgy and thpught evreything in this life called inventation and inventation is from smart and intelligent but the truth is we are getting worse some lighting screens does not mean we are actually upgrading .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether the current era is the best and mentioning the concept of historical comparison. However, the development is weak. The argument is repetitive and lacks specific examples or logical depth. The second part of the prompt—asking which other time in history would be interesting to live in—is completely ignored, which is a significant omission. The position is somewhat contradictory, shifting from saying the current time is 'not bad' to 'worse' without clear justification. To improve, you must ensure all parts of the question are answered and provide concrete, well-developed examples rather than general assertions.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks paragraphing, appearing as a single, long block of text. This makes it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of ideas. There is a lack of cohesive devices; sentences are often linked by commas or run-on structures rather than logical connectors. The flow is disjointed, and the lack of clear topic sentences makes it hard to identify the main point of each section. To improve, you should organize your response into at least four paragraphs (introduction, two body paragraphs, and conclusion) and use transition words like 'furthermore', 'however', and 'consequently' to link your ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. Words like 'thing', 'smart', 'intelligent', and 'bad' are used frequently, which restricts the range of expression. There are several instances of non-standard word choices or awkward phrasing, such as 'more future' instead of 'more advanced' and 'lighting screens' instead of 'digital screens'. Spelling errors, such as 'evrey', 'technolgy', and 'thpught', are frequent and occasionally distract the reader. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your vocabulary to include more precise, academic terms and focus on accurate spelling and word formation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The essay consists almost entirely of run-on sentences, with very little use of full stops or correct punctuation. This makes the text difficult to parse. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'many people think they living'), tense usage, and sentence structure. Complex sentence structures are attempted but are generally grammatically incorrect, leading to confusion. The lack of basic punctuation is a major issue that significantly impacts readability. To improve, focus on writing shorter, simpler sentences first to ensure grammatical accuracy before attempting more complex structures.
