Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's world, many individuals hold diverse opinion on a wide range of topics. Many people believe that present is a best time to live life freely whereas other believe that past was the best time. I partially agree with this perspective and reasons of behind my argument will be discuss further.

To begin with, there are several merits of living in the present time in the history. The first and foremost is that advanced technologies keeps a person life more smooth and adventures which include electronics, mobile phone, laptop ipad and internet. Secondly, individuals have freedom to represent their rights in the field of study, privacy and profession. Moreover, people are primarely educate and respect each other cultures. To elaborate it, India is a multi-diverse country along with various function. Nowadays, individuals used to participate in such function in order to understand different cultures such as Hindu people are participating in Eid which is Muslim societies function and vice-versa.

On the other hand, the highlights of the past time in the history to be living should not be ignored. People used to work with physical efforts. Hence, animals and carts were used for agriculture purpose. It improve their physical and mental strength and reduce the level of diseases and stress. Each families were joint and share responsibilities in order to complete household chores. For example, in 19th centuries, men were in the farms working hard whereas women were busy to complete house work such as washing clothes, cooking and cleaning. Moreover, environment was clean due to less public transportation. Thus, people were used to prefer walk for nearby place and cartwheels for far away work.

In conclusion, the proliferation of modern individuals believe that present time in history is best to be living, poses a serious threat to the quality of life. In my opinion, nodoubt present time provides freedom and advanced technologies for living but physical workout benefits and less pollution in the past should not be ignored. Therefore, a balanced respect is madatory for past and present time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the opinion on the present day and the interest in a past era. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the benefits of the present are clear, the discussion of the past focuses heavily on physical labor and gender roles without fully connecting these to why they would be 'interesting' to live in. The conclusion is slightly confused, as it labels the present as a 'serious threat' to the quality of life, which contradicts the earlier positive points. To improve, ensure that your position is consistent throughout and that every point directly answers the 'why' behind your opinions.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' are used to signal transitions between ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'To elaborate it, India is a multi-diverse country'. Referencing is generally clear, but the logical progression within paragraphs could be smoother to better connect the examples provided to the main arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. There are several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'keeps a person life more smooth', 'primarely educate', and 'nodoubt'. The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but the reliance on basic descriptors limits the impact of your arguments. To reach a higher band, focus on using more sophisticated vocabulary and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical forms and contexts.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('technologies keeps', 'Each families were'), incorrect verb tenses ('reasons of behind my argument will be discuss'), and missing articles. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they are frequent enough to limit the score. Increasing the frequency of error-free sentences and proofreading for basic agreement and tense consistency would significantly improve your score.
