Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the contemporary world, people consider current situation as ideal to live peacefully with availability of numerous technologies and with the further development in science and artificial technology. From my perspective, the present condition of living is considerably advantageous when compared to the life of people living in previous centuries.
In earlier centuries such as sixteenth to eighteenth, individuals didn't have technologies to make their lives better and live conveniently. In today's world where multiple things are regulated by technologies have made people's life less painful and diminish their hard work. Additionally, innovative studies are also have been incorporated in schools and universities to make youngsters learn effectively. Life has become considerably easier offering multiple opportunities to enjoy rather than working hard. For instance, a group of younger generation enjoying a birthday party don't have to cook food, instead a hot food can be ordered and delivered in a short span of time.
The 17th Century would effectively be the best to live in due to its naturality of food and living conditions. The century, where no technology and easier way of living were known, people enjoyed their time organically without any disruption from outside world. The food and shelter were provided by tree or by hunting, with no pressure of working professionally and earning money. In past lives, there wasn't any concept of earning money but to earn food. For example, people who want to be the provider for their family don't have to go out and earn money, instead they need to hunt food.
In conclusion, Although living in 17th-18th century would be peaceful with no concept of interacting with many people, it is not modernise and won't provide numerous opportunities to evolve. I strongly admire the world with huge modern and effective technologies to assist people with various kinds of activities and making their life easy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the current era and a historical alternative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument for the 17th century relies on a romanticized and historically inaccurate view of 'naturality' and 'no pressure of working,' which lacks depth. While the position is clear, the supporting examples, such as the birthday party scenario, are simplistic. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced analysis of why the present is advantageous and offer a more grounded, realistic perspective on the historical period chosen, rather than relying on generalizations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Additionally,' 'For instance,' and 'In conclusion,' though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. The progression of ideas is generally easy to follow, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved. For example, the transition between the benefits of technology and the specific example of ordering food is somewhat abrupt. The use of referencing is generally clear, though the flow between sentences could be smoother to create a more cohesive argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contemporary,' 'advantageous,' and 'innovative.' However, there are instances of awkward word choices and minor errors, such as 'naturality' (naturalness), 'artificial technology' (artificial intelligence), and 'not modernise' (not modernized). These errors do not impede communication but indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated vocabulary in a natural way and ensure that word forms are grammatically correct in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'innovative studies are also have been incorporated' (incorrect verb tense), 'people who want to be the provider... don't have to go out' (tense inconsistency), and 'the present condition of living is considerably advantageous' (missing article). While the meaning remains clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on subject-verb agreement, consistent tense usage, and article placement to improve accuracy.
