Student answer (Band 6.0)

The thinking about any particular aspects varies from person to person. Some of them said today is best time to live since there is possibility of survival on the planet Earth. The essay will highlight my judgement on it and throw some light back in history where the living stand was quite amazing.

The primary reason of such kind of thought process is that they had seen their old life when they were child there was not development happened in technology. For example the mobile phone which was just established in last two decades which made the conversation easy and fast between people who are living far from each other. Not only this they are used to compare their time with their parents time in term of developments and opportunities. To illustrate, in past even though person is very knowledgeable still he could able to get option to work away from their country but now one can easily for study, job in abroad. Moreover the source to earn the money are more which means one can at least afford their basic needs to fulfill.

However, one can not ignore the time in history when there is no technology, everyone stayed together and their were very strong bonding's. To exemplify all the society members help each other if any such problem appeared. in spite of this all are treated as same irrespective to their caste and religion. They fulfill each other demand without exchange it terms of money. For example if some needs to get grains from farmer they gave them clothes instead of money as there is no money factor during that time.

At last, the advance of technology change the prospective of people about their living standards but one can never forget closeness and lovingness of people who lived in past history.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the opinion on whether today is the best time to live and the identification of another interesting historical period. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention technological advancements and historical social bonds, the arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. For instance, the discussion on historical bartering is a good idea but is not fully connected to why that time would be 'interesting' to live in. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and provides more detailed reasoning to support your claims, moving beyond general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'For example', 'Moreover', and 'However', to link sentences. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In spite of this all are treated as same'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between ideas could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would help achieve a higher band score.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'technological advancements' and 'living standards'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations, such as 'throw some light back in history', 'living stand', and 'source to earn the money'. There are also some minor errors in word formation, such as 'prospective' instead of 'perspective'. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary to express your ideas.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Some of them said today is best time'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'he could able to get'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of apostrophes (e.g., 'bonding's'). While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors will be beneficial.
