Student answer (Band 6.0)
According to some individuals, the perfect time to be alive is now! In my view, it is true to some extent, as there are no wars currently and not a robotic world, which may be possible in the future. In this essay, I will explain why we are living in the best time of all ages. Experiencing the dinosaur era could have been fascinating too.
From my perspective, the current period is quite peaceful in terms of wars and other catastrophic events, which our ancestors went through. For instance, older generations had to face the consequences of World War I and World War II. They also dealt with plagues, floods, and other horrendous diseases for which they had no cure. Today, scientists have discovered the cure for all sorts of anomalies, including cancer and cardiac arrest. That being said, the future world does not seem to be fulfilling either. Despite all the advancements in science and technology, future generations would not experience the simplicity of life. For example, everything will be operated by robots rather than humans, and the rate of human interaction will become drastically low. Both extremes make the present era more practical.
However, I am particularly fond of experiencing the dinosaur era. I have always imagined myself living in a jungle while talking to wild animals, especially dinosaurs. Furthermore, if I had options, I'd have chosen to live an adventurous life in the past.
In conclusion, either living in the past or the future comes with difficult tests for everyday routine. In this period, there is a remedy for every illness. I personally prefer to experience the simpler life in the beginning of the world.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, though the development is somewhat uneven. You clearly state your opinion that the present is the best time due to medical and technological advancements, and you identify the dinosaur era as an interesting alternative. However, the argument regarding the future is slightly contradictory, as you claim the present is the best time but then suggest the future is not fulfilling. The dinosaur section is also quite brief and lacks depth in terms of why it would be 'interesting' beyond personal imagination. To reach a higher band, ensure each point is fully extended with more detailed reasoning or examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'For instance,' 'Furthermore,' and 'In conclusion' to link your points. However, the transition between the second and third paragraphs is slightly abrupt. Additionally, some referencing is a bit mechanical, and the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to show more complex relationships between your arguments. Overall, the structure is clear and easy to follow, which is a strength of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'catastrophic,' 'anomalies,' and 'adventurous.' There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'not a robotic world' (which is slightly unnatural) and 'beginning of the world' (which is vague). You attempt to use less common vocabulary, but some collocations are slightly off. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring that your word choices fit the context of the argument more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this level. There are some grammatical errors, such as 'According to some individuals, the perfect time to be alive is now!' (which is a bit informal) and 'the rate of human interaction will become drastically low' (where 'low' is less precise than 'diminished'). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and refining your use of articles and prepositions to increase accuracy.
