Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people believe that the current time in history is the best time to be living because they are witnessing more advancement in the technologies such as mobile phone, flights and cashless payments. Although latest time provides a convenient lifestyle to the people, I believe that 30 years ago, life was more interesting because it offered family importance, craftmanship and a healthy lifestyle.
To begin with, a significant number of people believe that the current time is better to live in. This is because unlike the past years, when life was tough without technologies, nowadays, people have mobile phones which offer them to talk to their loved ones right away. Moreover, travelling has become much convenient with flights and trains, people can meet and reach anywhere they want. As a result, approaching has become easier with latest technologies in terms of calling, meeting, or contacting through E-mails.
However, I personally believe that life was better 30 years ago. This is because, in earlier years when no such technology was introduced, people used to spend more time with families and value members. They used to stay in a small house and no one was busy playing videogames. Hence their mode of entertainment was playing traditional outdoor games. Therefore, an average life of a person was way more than today. In addition, playing outdoor games would let children fit and healthy. Moreover, in those years the individuals used to encourage craftsmanship. For example, while constructing a house the workers were making designs with their handy skills and it has lasted for very long. As a result, people were most satisfied with their livelihood without carrying any stress.
To conclude, although in recent years technology has been developed significantly, I believe people without a technology would have a better life in terms of relationship, health and comfort.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the opinion on the current era and the choice of a past era. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention 'family importance' and 'craftsmanship,' these points could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The comparison between the present and the past is logical, but the argument regarding '30 years ago' is a bit generalized. To improve, ensure that your supporting points are fully explored rather than just stated.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with,' 'Moreover,' 'However,' and 'To conclude' to link your thoughts. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally repetitive. For instance, the use of 'This is because' appears frequently. To improve, try to vary your linking phrases and ensure that the relationship between sentences is more fluid, rather than relying on a standard template for every paragraph transition.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'advancement,' 'convenient,' and 'craftsmanship.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'approaching has become easier' (which is unclear) and 'an average life of a person was way more' (which is grammatically and lexically awkward). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding informal phrasing like 'way more.' Expanding your vocabulary to include more sophisticated synonyms for common words will also help.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'technologies such as mobile phone' (should be plural), 'travelling has become much convenient' (should be 'more convenient'), and 'people without a technology' (should be 'without technology'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but some sentence constructions are slightly clunky. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, as these errors occur frequently throughout the text.
