Post-industrialization started a journey of technological advancement parallel to the development of the understanding on human rights, civil laws, and diplomacy. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed both parts of the prompt: your opinion on the current era and your choice of an alternative historical period. Your position is clear throughout. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, particularly regarding the benefits of technology and human rights. However, the explanation of the pre-industrial era is slightly less developed, and the opening list of keywords is unnecessary and slightly confusing as it does not form a proper introduction. To reach a higher band, ensure that every paragraph contributes directly to the argument and avoid fragmented lists at the start of your essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. You use paragraphing effectively to separate the two main parts of the prompt. Cohesive devices such as 'consequently', 'however', and 'in conclusion' are used to link ideas. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and the referencing in the second paragraph could be smoother. For example, the sentence 'This propagates help such as financial assistance' is a bit vague in its connection to the previous point. Overall, the flow is coherent and easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to discuss the topic with some precision, using terms like 'proliferation', 'diplomacy', and 'war-torn'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'environmental damaged' (should be 'damage') and 'depended on' (should be 'dependent on'). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, these occasional inaccuracies prevent the score from being higher. Focus on ensuring that word forms are used correctly in context to improve your precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'the 21st century provides' (missing 'the'), 'involve clothes' (should be 'including'), and 'if there was a better time' (should be 'whether there was'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences will help you move into the higher band range.
