Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the opinion on the current era and the choice of a historical period. The position is clear throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of medical advancements and earthquake-resistant construction. However, the development of the second part is slightly contradictory; you state you would like to live in 'modern history' but then describe the era of the Industrial Revolution and early scientific discoveries, which are distinct historical periods. This lack of precision in defining the historical era slightly weakens the development of the second task requirement. Overall, the response is well-structured and covers all parts of the prompt adequately.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Additionally', and 'To recapitulate' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as the slightly confusing phrasing in the conclusion: 'this essay is discussed that how technology has made life easier'. Despite these minor issues, the progression of ideas is clear, and the paragraphing is appropriate for the task.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to discuss the topic with some precision. Phrases like 'technological advancements', 'natural disasters', and 'naturally inclined' are used effectively. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'earthquake resistant build' (should be 'buildings') and 'construction patter' (should be 'patterns'). You also use 'modern history' in a way that is slightly imprecise, as this term usually encompasses the period from the late 15th century to the present. While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the response from reaching a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There is evidence of good control, but several grammatical errors persist. For example, '21st century' requires an article ('the 21st century'), and there are subject-verb agreement issues, such as 'technological advancements has improved' (should be 'have improved'). Additionally, there are minor errors in article usage and pluralization, such as 'initial model of an air planes' (should be 'airplanes'). While these errors are noticeable, they rarely impede the reader's understanding of your arguments.
