Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you address both parts of the prompt—the contemporary period and a future period—the arguments remain superficial. For instance, your discussion on technology is repetitive and lacks specific, well-developed examples. The second body paragraph regarding the 'next generation' is vague and lacks a clear connection to why it would be an 'interesting' time to live. To improve, ensure you expand on your points with detailed explanations and concrete examples to meet the length requirement and provide a more thorough exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate. For example, the transition 'Similarly, communication for clint meeting...' is awkward. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the link between current scientific research and the 'next generation' is not clearly articulated. Improving the variety and precision of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus will help improve the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good' or 'best' and struggle with collocations, such as 'quality of works' instead of 'quality of work' or 'clint meeting' (likely a typo for 'client meeting'). There are also issues with word forms, such as 'scientist' (should be plural 'scientists') and 'professional' (should be 'professionals'). To reach a higher band, focus on using more sophisticated vocabulary and ensuring correct word choice and spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('more research are conducting' should be 'more research is being conducted') and article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and refining your control over complex sentence structures.
