Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the opinion on modern life and the choice of a historical period. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention technology and medicine, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. For instance, the mention of 'robotic surgery' is a good start, but it is not explained in the context of why it makes life better. The second part regarding the Renaissance is also brief and lacks a clear connection to why it would be 'interesting' beyond a general statement about art and science. To improve, ensure each point is fully extended with clear reasoning and illustrative examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'Answering the first question' is an unnecessary meta-commentary that disrupts the flow. There are also issues with sentence-level cohesion, such as the fragmented sentence 'However, I recommend the renaissance (roughly 14th to 17th centuries). because, it was the fantastic period...'. The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, and the use of referencing (e.g., 'the person') is occasionally awkward, making the progression of ideas feel slightly disjointed at times.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on repetitive phrasing such as 'make life more [adjective]' and 'advance technology'. There are also several word-choice errors, such as 'modern ear' (instead of 'era') and 'visualized' (when you likely meant 'see each other'). While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or sophisticated collocations. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and checking for common spelling errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. Frequent errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Many individual claim', 'people who lives') and article usage (e.g., 'in medical sector') are noticeable. Additionally, there are punctuation errors, such as starting sentences with lowercase letters and improper sentence fragmentation. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to distract the reader. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with pluralization, verb tenses, and sentence boundaries.
