Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this Technological era, half of the generation says that the present time is good for living. In the upcoming paragraphs i will discuss about which time is best to enjoy, either the developed or the historical time.
In my opinion, the twenty-first century is best, there are some reasons. Firstly, advanced technology as well as equal rights for women, which were not present in history, there were so many females who fought for equality. We can read a number of books regarding feminism as well as the cruelty that happened to them; another is technology, for instance, cars, mobile phones, and most importantly, travelling by air declined the consumption of people leisure time.
However, the era when humans had just started their life on planet earth also would be such a thrilling time to live because at that time men and women were doing a large number of experiments and no sign of buildings or too much crowd on Earth. Furthermore, so many animals as well as birds which is now extinct must be in that century. For example, A team of scientists found a skull of first man on earth which i found really mesmerising.
To conclude, Now is the best time in history since, there are a lot of facilities and technology compare to previous time as result the time to live has increased drastically while, the death rate was high in history due to no proper medication and hygiene. Moreover, the pandemics were also effected the population in past.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the opinion on the present day and the choice of an alternative historical era. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the discussion on feminism and technology in the first body paragraph is brief and lacks depth. The second body paragraph regarding the early human era is also quite general. To achieve a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or elaborate on the 'why' behind your arguments. The position is clear throughout, but the supporting evidence needs more expansion to fully meet the requirements of a Band 7.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'However', and 'Furthermore', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In the upcoming paragraphs i will discuss about'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a strong, unified focus would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'feminism', 'extinct', and 'mesmerising'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'declined the consumption of people leisure time' and 'pandemics were also effected'. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure that your word choices are natural and contextually appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and punctuation (e.g., 'i will', 'compare to previous time', 'as result'). Some sentences are run-on or lack proper conjunctions, such as 'In my opinion, the twenty-first century is best, there are some reasons.' To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and practice using more varied complex structures with greater precision.
