Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, many people fond of this generation is the best time to live, although others believe that previous generation is intresting time to live. As far as I am concerned, both histories have a significant roles in individuals lives.
On the one hand, there are a plethora of reasons to be living in the nowadays. Primary aspect is innovative technology, it represents not only highly mechanical life in personal accessories but also in professional accessories. This is the huge difference between the past to present. Consequently, many people finish their works quickly with automation. For instance, in London, recently they invented a robotic machine, while citizens are rely on daily household chores.
On the other hand, some people believe living in previous history is interesting since at the time universal human values play a pivotal role in the individual lives. In previous history everything is based on the ancient cutlure, such as traditional food and clothing. In the past many people survived physically and mentally healthy because they woke up at dawn time, then they finished their household tasks with their own, next they went to their works by walk. Furthermore, social interaction is crcuial at that time. For example, in India, in the previous time almost every where they accompanied with joint families, therefore, this time enables them to significantly stayed healthy physically as well as mentally.
In conclusion, many people say that now is the best time in history to be living, nevertheless others believe other time in history would be interesting to live in. From my point of view, both play a significant roles in their lives, however being healthy is crucial that was happened in the previous time compare to nowadays.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the current era and a historical alternative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention technology in the present and traditional values in the past, the arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. For instance, the mention of a 'robotic machine' in London is vague and does not clearly illustrate how it improves daily life. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting points are fully explored rather than just stated. Your position is generally clear, but the conclusion could more effectively synthesize your views rather than simply repeating the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'In conclusion.' However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the connection between ideas is weak, such as the transition between the discussion of technology and the example provided. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, particularly in the opening paragraph where the phrasing is awkward. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your meaning, but there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation that occasionally make the text difficult to follow. For example, 'fond of this generation' is an incorrect usage, and 'highly mechanical life' is not a natural collocation. You attempt to use some less common vocabulary like 'plethora' and 'pivotal,' which is good, but these are sometimes used in contexts that feel slightly unnatural. To improve, focus on learning how words are used together in natural English phrases rather than just memorizing individual synonyms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'both histories have a significant roles'), incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'that was happened'), and missing articles or prepositions. Some sentences are also poorly constructed, such as 'many people fond of this generation is the best time.' While these errors do not completely prevent communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. You should focus on proofreading your work to correct basic errors in tense and pluralization.
