Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the opinion on the present time and the interest in a future time. However, the development is somewhat superficial. While you mention technological advancements and peace, the arguments lack depth and specific, illustrative examples. For instance, mentioning 'washing machines' is a bit simplistic for an IELTS essay. The position is clear, but the conclusion contradicts the earlier paragraph where you discuss the potential of the future. To improve, ensure your supporting points are more analytical and directly linked to the broader implications of living in different eras.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore,' 'For instance,' and 'To conclude,' which help the flow. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Looking into the present time' or 'However, we can overlook the future time' (which actually conveys the opposite of your intended meaning). The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the logical link between the paragraphs could be smoother to ensure a more cohesive argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on basic descriptors like 'best time,' 'good,' and 'better.' There are also some collocation errors, such as 'unbalance the world peace' (should be 'disturb world peace') and 'make our life more better' (a double comparative error). To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to history, technology, and societal progress, and pay closer attention to word choice and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'There are mix opinion' (should be 'mixed opinions'), 'we are heavily rely over' (should be 'we rely heavily on'), and 'Scientists have actively working' (should be 'have been actively working'). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic tense and agreement errors.
