Student answer (Band 6.0)
We are living in a world full of Comfort. Some people argue that this is the best time in human history to live, while others disagree. As far as my opinion is concerned, I strongly agree with the former claim. The older generations did not witness the technology and comfort we are experiencing now.
To begin with, in the last 100 years, technology has evolved significantly, impacting our lives in various ways. The invention of electricity contributed a lot to this. Nowadays, we have air conditioners, televisions, phones, and many more gadgets that were not there in the last century, things we are totally dependent on. We have better means of travel; in the past, people used to travel for months to get from one place to another. And the means of communication were also limited back then; people used to communicate via letters, which takes months to reach to the receiver. On the other and we have Cars, planes, trains, and ships to travel in less time. Also we can communicate more efficiently then earlier with our phones, computers, and through post. We don't have to wait for months to receive letters.
Nevertheless, if I were given a chance to live in past, I would love to live in the Ancient Roman Empire. They were ahead of their time. The king of technology they used to build palaces, roads, and drainage systems. Their culture and literature was very fascinating.
In conclusion, I would say that although the past world was unique and good in its place, today's world is a more better place in terms of comfort, technology and living standards.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the opinion on whether this is the best time to live and a suggestion for another interesting historical period. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention technology and comfort, the explanation remains quite general. The section on the Ancient Roman Empire is brief and lacks specific examples or a deeper justification for why it would be 'interesting' to live there, beyond a vague mention of 'king of technology' (likely a misuse of 'kind'). To reach a higher band, you should expand on your reasoning with more concrete examples and ensure both parts of the prompt receive balanced attention.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with,' 'Nevertheless,' and 'In conclusion,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal structure of the second paragraph is a bit cluttered with a list of items that could be better integrated into a more cohesive argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your meaning, but it is somewhat basic and occasionally imprecise. For example, 'king of technology' is likely a mistake for 'kind of technology' or 'level of technology.' Phrases like 'more better' are grammatically incorrect and demonstrate a lack of control over comparative structures. While you successfully use words like 'significantly,' 'evolved,' and 'efficiently,' the overall lexical range is limited. To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing such as 'in the past' and 'back then.'
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. Examples include 'more better' (a double comparative), 'which takes months to reach to the receiver' (incorrect preposition usage), and 'if I were given a chance to live in past' (missing article). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but there are some issues with capitalization (e.g., 'Cars'). The frequency of these errors suggests that you need to focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and subject-verb agreement.
