Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is believed by some that current time is a perfect time to live in the history. Although I agree with this viewpoint, believe that past time have important history and future time can be effective as long as something extraordinary happened in the future.
One main reason why present time can be excellent for the history because of the new developments. There are so many developments can be experienced in different fields, which make the life of people quite comfortable and convenient. So, the process of development can be recorded that how all the invention are done by experts for the future generations. In this way they can know that how much time is invested on such developments and also about the efforts behind it.
The future history can also be much more effective if something unique happen in the future. Nowadays, scientists are searching other planets where human life can exist in the future. If they get success to exist human life on Mars, that era also may encounter in the history, which would help to know individuals that when life started in different planets.
In my opinion, along with current and future history, the importance of past time can not be ignored. So far, people have learnt a lot from past about their ancestors and hard work and struggle. In addition, individuals also became about their cultures, traditions and lifestyles. As a result, help people to stay connected with their roots.
In conclusion, while I believe current era is the best time to record history due to the development of new technologies and techniques, the importance of past can not be overlooked as it provided knowledge about past life, culture and tradition and future period may create new history according to new developments.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the current era and an interesting historical period. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention technological advancements, the explanation of why the present is 'the best' lacks specific, concrete examples. Similarly, the discussion of the past is generic, focusing on 'ancestors' and 'traditions' without naming a specific era or providing a compelling reason why it would be interesting to live in. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments are repetitive and lack the depth required for a higher band. To improve, focus on providing specific historical contexts or more detailed justifications for your opinions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'In conclusion', 'In addition', and 'One main reason'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'the process of development can be recorded that how all the invention are done'. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the transitions between paragraphs could be smoother to create a more cohesive argument. Ensure that each sentence links naturally to the previous one to improve the overall flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision expected at higher levels. You rely on repetitive phrases like 'developments', 'history', and 'future'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'current time is a perfect time to live in the history' (should be 'in history') and 'get success to exist human life' (should be 'succeed in establishing human life'). To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary and collocations, such as 'technological breakthroughs', 'historical significance', or 'pioneering research', and pay closer attention to word forms and prepositional usage.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include missing articles ('in the history'), subject-verb agreement errors ('past time have', 'something unique happen'), and awkward phrasing ('that era also may encounter in the history'). While the meaning is generally understandable, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction limit the score. Focus on proofreading your work to correct subject-verb agreement and ensure that your complex sentences are constructed accurately without losing the intended meaning.
